Barbera and Merlot in different proportion according to the harvest
Crus “Bricco della Maddalena”, owners’ vineyards located at Rocca Grimalda, plot Piani del Padrone. The cru’s grapes are divided and subsequently select.
From 12 to 16 months in French oak barriques partly new; some of the wine complets its alcoholic fermentation and the subsequent malolactic fermentation in barriques.
The wine shows an imposing, very intense color, without an even minimal sign of diluition on the glass edge, with a bright ruby-red shade; the smell is intense, fine and persistent, caused by a superior alcoholic content, and shows an aromatic spectrum of a rare complexion (one can detect notes of well ripe red and black fruits, shades of rosemary and other aromatic herbs, sweet notes of vanilla and cinnamon, and other spices such as cloves and pepper); in the mouth the wine displays all of its structural plenitude and its superior volume with fat and intriguing feelings; the alcohol spreads its sweet cover over the acidity, pervading and maintaining it into a perfect balance; its long-lasting consistency of taste and scent is the firmed touch of a high class and superior-level wine.
Red meats, venison, mushrooms, sea-soned cheese, outstanding with “salmì” dishes
